IEAA EAIE SYMPOSIUM:
ADVANCING AUSTRALIA - EUROPE COOPERATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The International Education Association of Australia and the European Association for International Education are pleased to announce a special symposium to advance Australia-Europe Cooperation in higher education.

TIME:           Sunday 11 October (from 2 pm onwards)
                      Welcome dinner at 7 pm (Sydney Harbour)
                      Monday 12 October 8:30 am to 5 pm

LOCATION:    The University of New South Wales, Central City Campus (Event Sponsor)
                        Level 6, 1 O'Connell Street

FEES:           IEAA Members: $266
                     Non members: $380

The registration fee includes the welcome dinner on Sunday 11 October and lunch on Monday 12 October.
                                                   
REGISTRATION: 
Registration is open to IEAA Members and non members.
Participants travelling from Europe need to contact the IEAA Secretariat for registration (admin@ieaa.org.au) to benefit from the special arrangement agreed with EAIE.

BACKGROUND:
EAIE (the European Association for International Education) and IEAA (the International Education Association of Australia) are member led, non-profit associations of international education professionals in Europe and Australia.
 EAIE has a membership exceeding 1,800 and IEAA has a membership exceeding 800.  EAIE and IEAA are the peak professional bodies of international education practitioners in Europe and Australia. 
Within the context of the globalization of higher education, the two organizations are initiating a dialogue, beginning in Australia in 2009, to extend, deepen and advance the engagement of Australian and European universities and vocational education and training institutions in a range of priority areas of international education, including:

• academic program development
• qualifications frameworks
• student and staff mobility
• research training
• leadership in international education
• public policy directions in Europe and Australia

AUDIENCE:
The Symposium is aimed at senior international education practitioners and associated senior government personnel active in developing and supporting the growing education relationship between Europe and Australia

• Strategic update on European and Australian approaches to international education
• Showcase good practice
