WORKSHOP MODE: Participants will work in breakout groups for part of the program to workshop particular scenarios and to research practical problems relevant to their current and future work roles. There will be ample opportunity for discussion and networking with colleagues in other institutions and organizations.
PRESENTERS: Chair: Dr Bruce Mackintosh Dr Bruce Mackintosh was the Director of the International Centre at The University of Western Australia, which had responsibility for both the recruitment and support of international students onshore and the student exchange programs offshore, a position held for eleven years. In 2003 he spent three months in London on secondment as Head of the International Office at Westminster University. From 2005 to 2008, he was Chair of the Australian Universities International Directors Forum, and was a past Chair of the Universities of Perth and Deputy Chair of Perth Education City. He was an inaugural member of the Council of IEAA.
Regulatory Environment and Student Servicing: Robert Barrett Robert Barrett is the Manager of ESOS and Visa Compliance at Monash University. He has general responsibility for ESOS compliance at Monash as well as providing advice and assistance about visa matters. Robert has a Law degree from Monash University and is a registered Migration Agent. Robert has worked in international education for over 15 years. Prior to taking responsibility for ESOS and Visa matters, Robert managed the campus international student services office at Clayton campus and before that, Peninsula campus.
Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions: Catherine Ng Catherine Ng currently holds the role of Manager, International Projects at William Angliss Institute. Since 2002, Catherine has developed her experience in marketing international education and training, establishing offshore campuses, providing global training and consultancies services in human resources development for the hospitality and tourism industry around the world. Catherine is an industry practitioner with qualifications in Masters of Business Administration, Certified Developer of Enterprise and Diploma of Company Director. Combining her eight years’ experience in the international education and training sector, Catherine can provide insights and strategies on cross cultural customer needs issues and marketing international education and training.
