OVERVIEW The Australian Government's white paper, entitled 'Australia in the Asian Century', has been promoted as a blueprint for ensuring that Australia gives the Asian region top priority in the future. This module will explore the following issues:
- How you, as an international education leader, can maximise the advantages to your institution of this new policy framework
- What will be required to differentiate your institution in order to gain industry, government and NGO support for your Asian engagement
- As a leader, what intercultural competencies and skills you will need to take your institution in the right direction
- How to acquire these skills and what resources you will need to draw on.
While this module is designed to be a standalone learning and engagement opportunity, it will also build into two other modules that will be offered later in 2013: 'New Models of International Education Leadership Partnerships' (July 2013) and 'Leaders in International Education: Partnership Implementation' (October 2013).
DELIVERY MODE This module consists of a networking dinner on the evening of 2 May and a full-day session on 3 May 2013. Please note that these are new dates as of 19 Feb 2013.
