All users of the IERN must agree to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of Use as outlined below.
By registering as a user of the IERN, or by using the website you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Use. IEAA may revise or amend these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time at the Association’s discretion by posting revised Terms and Conditions on this website. Such revisions will be effective immediately. If you continue to use this site after any revision becomes effective, you agree to be bound by these revised Terms and Conditions of Use. It is recommended that you visit this page from time to time to ensure you are aware of the current Terms and Conditions of Use to which you are bound.
1. Welcome to the IERN
The IERN is a one stop portal for the international education research community. The network aims to support research partnerships and collaboration, the dissemination and sharing of research between researchers and practitioners and to help inform the research agenda for international education. Membership of the Network is free and open to everyone and will benefit researchers, practitioners and students from a broad range of disciplines related to international education.
2. Member Categories
| Member Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Emerging Researcher (Student) | Individuals currently enrolled in under or post graduate courses across a broad range of disciplines that contribute to the overall body of research supporting international education. |
| Academic Researcher | Established academics staff who constitute the experts across a diverse range of disciplines. |
| Government | Government representatives including those who formulate and implement policy impacting on international education. |
| Research Consultant | Individuals who provide specialist consulting services on a commercial basis. |
| Research Organisation | Individuals of research organisations that fund or provide research services. |
| Affiliate | Individuals not otherwise categorised above who have a stake in directing and advising on or an interest in international education research activities. |
3. User Obligations
You acknowledge that materials posted on the website are protected by copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights for both IEAA and/or its author members and as such are governed by all applicable laws and regulations.
You agree to:
- provide IEAA with accurate, current and complete information, for the purposes of registering you as a user of the system and if applicable recording your Membership details and you will update these details as required to ensure they remain current.
- be responsible for the safekeeping of your username and password and that you will be liable if your username or password is used by an unauthorised person. You agree that, upon becoming aware that your password or account is (or believed to be) being used without authorisation, you will immediately change your password and notify IEAA by sending an e-mail to admin@ieaa.org.au. You agree to release and indemnify IEAA in connection with any use of your username or password.
- by registering as a User you acknowledge that the services are provided only for personal and professional use by you.
You agree NOT to:
- impersonate any other person
- use the IEAA website to send unsolicited advertisements for goods or services of any kind (spamming)
- send mass mailings, chain letters, or promote pyramid schemes to members
- make available through this website any material which:
- violates or infringes the rights of others (including their privacy and intellectual property rights);
- encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offence or otherwise violate any law;
- is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to, or incite hatred of, any person;
- restricts or prevents any other user from using or enjoying the site;
- is designed to negatively affect the functionality or operation of any computer software, hardware or telecommunications equipment (e.g. by transmitting a computer virus or other harmful component, whether or not knowingly).
- Please note that the permission granted to use material on the site terminates automatically if you breach any of these Terms of Use.
4. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify IEAA against any liability arising from your use of its services.
