IEAA Transnational Education Forum 2016

IEAA’s Transnational Education (TNE) Forum builds on the success of last year’s inaugural event to provide a national platform for exploring the latest trends and developments affecting transnational education.

Recognising the growing importance of TNE in the schools sector, we have commissioned a new report to be launched at this year’s forum. Written and presented by Peter Burgess, the report will examine the barriers, possibilities and emerging trends in transnational delivery and the schools sector.

Additional themes include:

  • Setting up a joint institution in China
  • Teaching and learning innovation in TNE
  • Enhancing the student experience in TNE
  • Regulatory updates from TEQSA and ASQA
  • Market updates on China, Malaysia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

This event is led by IEAA's Special Interest Group for Transnational Education.

Target audience

This forum will be of particular interest to staff involved in:

  • developing and managing TNE partnerships
  • quality assurance of TNE programs
  • teachers, academics and support staff engaged in the TNE student experience including outcomes.

Participants will gain the most out of the forum if they have some involvement in and understanding of TNE, and how their respective institutions currently deliver, or are considering the delivery of, TNE.

Outcomes

IEAA’s TNE forum aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the transnational education landscape in Australia and globally.

The two-day forum will be structured with presentations, case studies and open discussion.

It also provides a valuable opportunity to network and exchange insights with other TNE professionals and the wider international education sector.
