The Student Mobility SIG is Australia’s leading forum for all things related to student mobility.
Among other events, the SIG facilitates IEAA's annual Mobility Forum and Exchange Fair Circuit, which provides an opportunity for partner institutions from around the world to visit their Australian partners and promote exchange opportunities.
Membership is open to IEAA members and non-members.
- To act as the prime Australian forum for discussion, debate, research and the dissemination of information and models of best practice in student mobility.
- To contribute to the development of strategy, operations and policy in the field by government, institutions, organisations and industry involved in the international mobility of students.
- Contribute to skills development of mobility staff through IEAA's professional development program.
Linda Rust, Convener
Linda is Manager, Mobility and the Cairns Office at James Cook University. She is responsible for developing opportunities and programs to grow outbound student mobility. Linda has worked in the university sector for the past 13 years, and the international education sector for six years. She is the current chair of the Hessen/QLD group and the ILO group representative for Queensland.
Simon Davies Burrows, Deputy Convener
Simon is Manager, Internationalisation at Edith Cowan University. He has worked in education in Australia and overseas for 17 years. For the past 11 years he has been employed in international at ECU. During this time, he has overseen international admissions and recruitment, compliance and quality assurance, international relations and academic partnerships.
Leanne Harrison, Deputy Convener
Leanne is Manager, Strategic Engagement (Internationalisation), Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs at the Australian National University. She has spent 14 years working in higher education in program development, marketing and communications, primarily within learning abroad and student recruitment. In her current role, Leanne is responsible for developing internationalisation projects including a global learning and internships program.
