Join expert speakers from IEAA’s Data Group and beyond for an insightful webinar where we explore current data related to international students and agents.

Data experts, Lucy Blakemore, Jon Chew and Dr Sarah Todd will share their insights, analysis and perspectives from both qualitative and quantitative approaches. This webinar will be hosted by Lyndell Jacka, IEAA Researh Committee Member and Chair of IEAA’s Data Group.

The presentation component of IEAA Data Webinars is recorded and made available to IEAA Members post-event. Please note, however, that the Q&A component is not recorded as we aim to encourage an open exchange of views between presenters and attendees.

Audience

This webinar is relevant for international education practitioners who are interested in data and data-informed insights. You don’t need to be an expert; this session caters for advanced international education data users as well as those who have less data know-how and experience, or who would describe themselves as beginners. The only pre-requisite is curiosity!

Outcomes

Webinar participants will:

  • Gain deeper insight into recent and relevant international student and agent data;
  • Hear from established international education data experts and participate in and un-recorded, interactive Q&A session.
  • Learn more about IEAA’s Data Group and planned future activities.

Lucy Blakemore

Lucy is a research and insights professional specialising in international education, student experience and digital transformation in higher education. She has held leadership, research and teaching roles in the UK, Italy, Sudan, and Australia, and works with higher education institutions to integrate education insights into practice.

Jonathan Chew, IEAA-SF

Jon Chew is Chief Insights Officer at Navitas, a global education provider with over 100 colleges and campuses in 18 countries, where he leads the organisation’s data-driven culture. Jon is recognised as one of the world’s preeminent market analysts in international education and brings in-depth expertise on global trends in education, built on the rigorous analysis of a wide range of external and in-house datasets. His work is informed by an up-to-the-minute industry perspective developed collaboratively with a global network of stakeholders, policy-makers and experts. Jon was the recipient of the IEAA Excellence Award in Professional Commentary in 2022. Prior to joining Navitas, Jon spent 10 years in management and policy consulting, and began his career as a public-sector economist.

Lyndell Jacka, IEAA-SF 

Senior Principal, Insights 

University of Queensland (UQ) 

Lyndell is currently Senior Principal, Future Students Insights at The University of Queensland. An experienced market insights professional with over a decade in international education, she has led, shaped, and developed research and data insights at organisations such as IDP Education, Edified, Austrade, and Studyportals. She is passionate about interpreting market data and intelligence to help the sector unlock value and inform evidence-based decision making. Lyndell chairs IEAA’s Data Group, a subcommittee of the Research Committee, and is a member of the Research Committee.

Dr Sarah Todd, IEAA-SF 

Principal Consultant 

QS Quacquarelli Symonds (Australia) Pty Ltd 

Dr Sarah Todd is Principal Consultant at QS. She was previously Vice President (Global) at Griffith University, and was the inaugural Pro Vice Chancellor (International) at the University of Otago. Sarah has also served on numerous boards and committees related to international education, including being President of the Asia Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE), Chair of both the Universities Australia and Innovative Research Universities (IRU) International Committees and long-term member of the IEAA board.

Individual Registration

To register for an IEAA event, you first need to either sign in to your account, or create a new account using the links just below the registration button.

Once you are logged in you need to:

  1. Select 'register yourself'.
  2. Choose the registration option (if there are more than one).
  3. Add any dietary or accessibility requirements (in person events only).
  4. Proceed to checkout to complete your registration.

Group Registration

To register a group, you first need to either sign in to your account, or create a new account using the links just below the registration button.

Once you are logged in you need to:

  1. Register yourself (following the individual registration steps).
  2. Choose another person Register additional people from your organisation by selecting register someone else.
  3. Select 'Register Someone Else' to add another person from your organisation.
  4. Enter the name in the search field and select.
  5. Select 'Save' to add them to your registration.
  6. Choose the registration options for each individual.
  7. Repeat for additional people.
  8. Proceed to checkout to complete your registration.
