For our 20th annual Forum, we’re heading back to Sydney, where we’re welcoming you on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August 2026. The ‘must-attend’ event offers a unique opportunity to share and learn with like-minded practitioners and colleagues and is tailored to those working in or alongside inbound or outbound Learning Abroad programming.

Building on last year’s movie-inspired theme, Lost in Translation! invites presenters to explore the many dimensions of engaging across cultures. The theme encourages reflection on experiences of transition, communication, adaptation, and connection that arise when navigating unfamiliar cultural, linguistic, and institutional contexts.

The conference welcomes a wide range of inputs and perspectives, from operations to research and case studies. Let's examine practical approaches, with a focus on what we do from the perspective of the challenges and opportunities in cross-cultural engagement; from navigating difference and misunderstanding to fostering inclusion, resilience, and global learning.

Please note: DFAT and Palladium are hosting an ILO Forum on Wednesday 12 August. Further details, time and a registration link will be provided by DFAT/Palladium to ILO's closer to the event.
