Our partnerships with institutions, organisations, government and regulatory bodies, like associations and education leaders in Australia and globally allow us to work collaboratively to create excellent professional development opportunities, research and advocacy.

By registering as a user of the IEAA website, or by using the website you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Use as per this Agreement.

IEAA may revise or amend these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time at our discretion by posting revised terms on this website. Such revisions will be effective immediately.

If you continue to use this site after any revision becomes effective, you agree to be bound by these revised Terms and Conditions of Use. As such it is recommended that you visit this page from time to time to ensure you are aware of the current Terms and Conditions of Use to which you are bound.

1.0 Welcome to IEAA
1.1 The International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) is a leading professional organisation representing members from the higher education, vocational education and training, English language and schools sectors, public and private, working in international education.
1.2

IEAA’s mission is to enhance the quality and standing of Australian international education by:

  • Serving the professional needs and interests of members, with a view to improving the quality of professional knowledge, skills and discourse.
  • Encouraging high quality, informed and ethical professional practice among members.
  • Promoting international education with governments, education organisations and within the community.
1.3 IEAA is an incorporated body and a registered business (ABN: 65897746316) operating within Australia and subject to Australian legislation. It operates from offices located at RMIT University in Victoria, Australia but operates independently of RMIT University.
1.4 IEAA is not politically aligned to any party and has no religious affiliations.
2.0 Governing law
  This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia and all disputes concerning this Agreement shall be litigated in the Courts of the State of Victoria.
3.0 User categories
  Users of the website include persons who visit the site and those who register formally as a user and obtain a password and username (usually for the purposes of making a purchase, including purchasing an IEAA membership subscription).

IEAA membership:

  • Membership is available to persons in Australia and overseas.
  • Benefits and entitlements and the costs associated with membership may be reviewed and altered annually by the IEAA Annual General Meeting held in October each year.
  • Membership is for one year from the date of joining/renewal except for those members whose subscription is paid through an Institutional Sponsorship and the member is added partway through the sponsorship period.
  • Members and Institutional Sponsors will be issued membership renewal notices to their nominated email address. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure the email address is active and current.
  • If a membership subscription is not renewed by the date of expiry, it is assumed that the member does not wish to renew their membership and as such access to the Members Area of the IEAA website will be denied the day following the expiry date.
  • A member may cancel their membership at any time by contacting the IEAA Secretariat.

Institutional memberships and charter agreements:

  • An organisation may become an IEAA organisational or charter member and subject to the level of membership sought will be entitled to receive a stipulated number of individual memberships.
  • Institutions and organisations are responsible for coordinating the membership and applications under their respective arrangements.
  • An institutional or charter member may add members at their discretion at any time during the subscription period to fulfil their quota. To do so, the recognised authorised officer may contact IEAA requesting the additional membership(s). The relevant member subscription(s) will expire at the same time as the membership expires.
  • Once the quota for the organisational/charter member has been reached, no further members may be added under that agreement. However additional memberships may be purchased.
4.0 User obligations
4.1 You acknowledge that materials posted on the website including the IEAA logo are protected by copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights for both IEAA and/or its author members and as such are governed by all applicable laws and regulations.

You agree to:

  • provide IEAA with accurate, current and complete information, for the purposes of registering you as a user of the system and if applicable recording your Membership details and you will update these details as required to ensure they remain current.
  • be responsible for the safekeeping of your username and password and that you will be liable if your username or password is used by an unauthorised person. You agree that, upon becoming aware that your password or account is (or believed to be) being used without authorisation, you will immediately change your password and notify [email protected]. You agree to release and indemnify IEAA in connection with any use of your username or password.
  • be responsible for any charges to your account and any activities conducted through your account. You may elect to pay your account via credit card or direct deposit/ EFT. If you provide your credit card details, you authorise IEAA or its agents to charge all fees incurred to the credit card and this authorisation remains valid until you advise otherwise either via the Members Only Area on the IEAA website or in writing. You may elect to have IEAA or its agents store the credit card details on a secure server.
  • by registering as a User you acknowledge that the services are provided only for personal and professional use by you.
  • IEAA providing you with information prepared by IEAA, electronically or by other means, in addition to the regular mailing lists. IEAA members may ‘opt in’ or ‘opt out’ from mailing lists at any time.

You agree not to:

  • impersonate any other person
  • resell your membership entitlements or information or services provided by IEAA.
  • use the IEAA website to send unsolicited advertisements for goods or services of any kind (spamming)
  • send mass mailings, chain letters, or promote pyramid schemes to members
  • send mail bombs (maliciously send unusually large and numerous files)
  • make available through this website any material which:
    a) violates or infringes the rights of others (including their privacy and intellectual property rights);
    b) encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offence or otherwise violate any law;
    c) is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to, or incite hatred of, any person;
    d) restricts or prevents any other user from using or enjoying the site;
    e) is designed to negatively affect the functionality or operation of any computer software, hardware or telecommunications equipment (e.g. by transmitting a computer virus or other harmful component, whether or not knowingly).
4.4 Please note that the permission granted to use material on the site terminates automatically if you breach any of these Terms of Use.
5.0 Payments
5.1 All prices are listed in $AU unless otherwise specified.
5.2 IEAA accepts online payment by credit card or direct deposit. To direct deposit you need to provide a description (your username and the order number) and place the direct deposit to (Westpac BSB: 033050 324530 Account: Account Name: International Education Association of Australia (IEAA).
5.3 IEAA is not responsible any loss or damage caused by a late or invalid payment.
6.0 Warranties, refunds and cancellations
6.1 IEAA does not offer refunds for change of mind purchases. Refunds for face-to-face professional learning events may be offered by IEAA at its sole discretion.
6.2 There are no warranties provided for event registrations, professional development courses or membership subscriptions of any type.
6.3 If any workshop, professional learning event or conference is cancelled by IEAA, the member or institution that paid for the registration will be offered a choice of: refund of the registration fees; or transfer the fees to an alternate course/ workshop. Any travel or associated costs incurred will remain the responsibility of the Institution or member.
6.4 You agree that use of the IEAA website and the online services provided to you by IEAA is at your own risk.
6.5 You acknowledge that the IEAA website may from time to time link to other websites which do not belong to IEAA. A link to other sites does not indicate that IEAA endorses the policies, content or products available from that website.
6.6 You acknowledge that the IEAA website contains sections to which members can post information directly, and that IEAA is not responsible for such content nor is it responsible for checking the validity of such content. If at any time IEAA finds that information posted on its website constitutes a violation of the Terms of Use it may remove the information from its website at its own discretion.
6.7 Information provided to IEAA for the benefit of its members, such as the Career Alerts, is posted in good faith and it is the responsibility of the Member to check the validity of such information.
6.8 Whilst the content is believed to be accurate, complete, current and reliable at the time the information is posted on the IEAA website, IEAA and its related companies, affiliates, licensors or licensees, and their respective directors, officers, employees or agents make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, currency or reliability of the information contained on this site (including in relation to any products or services) and to the extent permitted by law, will not be liable for any loss, cost or damage arising directly or indirectly from the use of the information, or the inability to use the information, including errors, omissions, interruptions, deletion of email or files, viruses, delays in transmission or operation, or failure of performance of online services.
6.9 While all care is taken to ensure the IEAA website and email transmissions are free from viruses, IEAA strongly recommends you scan such data for viruses.
6.10 IEAA does not warrant that access to the website or its services online will be error free or uninterrupted nor warrant the results received by using these services. IEAA does not guarantee specific times or duration of connectivity or any specific speed of access to the online services. The online services are provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis.
7.0 Security
7.1 All personal and credit card information provided to IEAA is encoded using an encryption protocol that protects data over the Internet called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
7.2 IEAA will only reveal personal information to a third party for the purposes of fulfilling your order or under the relevant directions and/or orders issued from time to time by the Australian Communications Authority.
7.3 Where a third party is involved in the completion of an order, that party has agreed that such information shall not be used except for the purposes of fulfilling the order to the IEAA member or customer.
7.4 IEAA may suspend or cancel your account at any time without prior notice.
8.0 Indemnity
  You agree to indemnify IEAA against any liability arising from your use of its services.
