IEAA's Learning Abroad Network is Australia's leading forum for all things related to student mobility. Among other events, we facilitate the annual IEAA Learning Abroad Forum and Learning Abroad Fair Circuit.

Emily Bressington is an Exchange Program Officer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specialising in student mobility across the USA, Canada, and Latin America. With a background in the non-profit sector and a decade spent living in Canada, Emily brings a global perspective to her role. She is passionate about student engagement, streamlining processes, and making Learning Abroad accessible to all students.

Stewart Collins 

Associate Director, Global Mobility 

Swinburne University of Technology 

Stewart has led the Swinburne Abroad team as a professional staff member for over 10 years and before that worked in international student recruitment, support and admissions. Stewart has also been an international student himself in Indonesia and Thailand.

Aaron DeBono 

Senior Education Abroad Advisor

A highly skilled international education specialist with 15 years industry experience, Aaron is committed to delivering transformative experiential learning opportunities abroad to tertiary level students. Aaron focuses on the development of student enrichment and engagement opportunities which not only promote global learning and employability, but also enables students to graduate as mature and more globally and socially conscious citizens.

Brad Dorahy 

CEO

Brad is passionate about international education and travel. After graduating from the University of Newcastle, where he was awarded a cultural scholarship and coordinated the second ‘Cultural Awakenings Festival’, Brad travelled the world and has since visited 70+ countries. Brad has been involved in international education for approx. 30 years and worked at a number of Australian Universities and for a number of international companies. Brad studied abroad in NZ and the USA, has attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and volunteered abroad on several occasions. Brad has presented at international conferences such as NAFSA, ISANA, the Mobility Forum, AIEC and CCIS and now lives on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Adam Elhindi 

Assistant Manager - Global Experience

Adam Elhindi Assistant Manager - Global Experience - University of Newcastle After graduating with a Bachelor of Business, specializing in Marketing and Events, from the University of Newcastle, Adam embarked on a dynamic career within the same institution. His diverse roles across various departments have equipped him with a broad and nuanced understanding of the university's operations and student needs. In 2012, Adam transitioned to the International Engagement team, where he found his true calling. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing the global experience for students, fostering international partnerships, and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Adam's expertise lies in creating and managing programs that enable students to gain valuable international exposure and develop a global perspective. Adam is deeply passionate about international education and its transformative impact on students' personal and professional growth.

Prof Nicholas Farrelly 

Pro Vice-Chancellor 

University of Tasmania (UTAS) 

Professor Nicholas Farrelly is currently a Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Tasmania, where he previously spent four years as Head of Social Sciences. He specialises in the study of political, cultural and strategic issues across Southeast Asia. Earlier in his career, Nicholas held academic leadership positions at the Australian National University, including as Associate Dean in the College of Asia and the Pacific. He is a member of the ASEAN-Australia Centre’s inaugural Advisory Board and Deputy Chair of the Board of Australia’s National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters. In 2024, Nicholas was a member of the External Advisory Group that supported the review of the New Colombo Plan.

Jeannette Geesmann, IEAA-F 

Manager, Global Learning and Sponsored Students

I have been working in International Education for over 15 years. Growing up in Germany, my passion to support others in learning abroad grew exponentially after my own study abroad in Sydney. After graduating from university and working for a German Education Agent, I returned to Australia in 2011 for a final Aussie experience. Today I am looking after the International Student Experience and Global Learning Team at UWA.

Hon Phil Honeywood, IEAA-SF 

Chief Executive Officer 

International Education Association of Australia 

Phil has been IEAA's Chief Executive Officer since November 2011. Previously, he was a Member of the Victorian State Parliament (1988–2006), Minister for Tertiary Education, Training and Multicultural Affairs (1996–1999) and Deputy Leader of the Opposition (2002–2006). Since retiring from politics, Phil worked at Stott’s Business College and Cambridge International College. Phil is the Chairman of the Roundtable of International Education Peak Body CEOs and a member of the Tuition Protection Service Board. Phil is also a Board member of the Bennelong Philanthropic Foundation and the Bangarra Group Board.

Dr Andrew Huhtanen 

Clinic Director 

University of Melbourne 

Dr Andrew Huhtanen is the Clinic Director of Melbourne Eyecare Clinic at Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics and an Academic Specialist at the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne. He has a keen interest in optometric education, clinical training and assessment and student clinical placements. He is actively involved in the delivery of academic and clinical teaching as part of the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Melbourne.

Ailsa Lamont 

Co-Founder and CEO 

International Education Sustainability Group (IESG) 

Ailsa Lamont is a Co-Founder and CEO of IESG, the International Education Sustainability Group which provides comparative data, insights and emissions tracking for the international education sector. She has been at the forefront of promoting climate action in the field of international education for a decade. Prior to that, Ailsa had a long career in international leadership roles at Australian universities and in capacity building work in eastern Europe. She has served as a NAFSA Senior Fellow for Sustainability, and her work was recognised in 2023 with the International Education Association of Australia’s Award for Distinguished Contribution to International Education.

Clare Mander 

Senior Program Officer, Short Programs 

UNSW Sydney 

Clare Mander is a Senior Program Officer for outbound short programs at UNSW Sydney and has over 15 years’ experience in supporting students in accessing meaningful learning experiences abroad. She brings an inclusive perspective to international education and is particularly interested in sustainability, global citizenship, and equity, diversity, and inclusion—ensuring that all students have access to global learning experiences as part of their education.

Bradley Manson 

Senior Adviser, Inbound Programs 

The University of Melbourne - Global Learning 

Bradley has worked in international education for over 15 years, specialising in student mobility for the last 10 years. He has worked at institutions in Australia and abroad in Japan. Currently working as the Senior Adviser in Global Mobility (Inbound Programs) at the University of Melbourne, Brad is responsible for recruiting incoming study abroad & exchange students, coordinating applications processing, through to onboarding administration and the overall student experience while onshore. Brad works with the University’s exchange partners and study abroad providers to promote UniMelb as a destination as choice, give advice and support on current industry developments & trends, and ensure all incoming students receive a fantastic overseas study experience while in Melbourne.

Liam Prince 

Director 

Australian Consortium for 'In-Country' Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) 

Liam Prince is the Director of the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) based at The University of Western Australia. He is an energetic advocate for ACICIS and its mission to increase the number of Australian university students undertaking study in Indonesia. An Economics and Indonesian studies graduate from UWA, prior to commencing work for ACICIS in 2012, Liam assisted in the formulation of a national plan for the future of Indonesian language studies in Australian universities.. Liam himself spent a semester as a student in Yogyakarta with ACICIS in 2000 and has ever after been scheming at ways various and novel to get himself back to Indonesia. In 2021, Liam and his ACICIS colleagues received the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA)’s award for Innovation in International Education for Virtual Program Delivery.

Keri Ramirez 

Managing Director and Co-Founder 

Studymove 

Keri is an Economist with over 18 years’ experience in international education. He previously worked at Macquarie University after completing his Master in International Business. He was the Virtual Marketing Coordinator at Macquarie International which saw him manage, not only the universities international online marketing strategies, but also managed the marketing intelligence reports, student communication and enquiry protocols for Macquarie International. He established Studymove in 2007 and has completed various consulting projects for numerous Australian and International universities in the areas of benchmarking in Learning Abroad, marketing intelligence and online marketing. Keri loves stats and loves telling a story with data! He has presented at various domestic and international conferences including AIEC, APAIE and NAFSA. Keri won the 2025 IEAA Excellence Award in Professional Commentary.

Susie Raneskold 

Global Partnerships Manager 

Adelaide University 

Susie Raneskold is a seasoned international education professional with over two decades of experience in global engagement, student mobility, international student recruitment, and strategic partnerships. She has held roles at the University of South Australia, Flinders University, and the University of Adelaide, and has worked across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Currently part of the Global Engagement team at the University of Adelaide, Susie manages strategic international partnerships in Europe and supports the university’s global strategy. Her career includes promoting Australian education in Scandinavia with IDP Education and leading international student recruitment efforts in China and Southeast Asia.

Linda Rust, IEAA-SF

Linda is Manager, Global Learning at University of Melbourne. She has previously held roles at RMIT, James Cook University and Flinders University. Linda is currently Convener of the Learning Abroad network.

Philippa Scott 

Manager, Global Learning (Acting) 

RMIT University 

Philippa has over fifteen years of experience in higher education, with a decade dedicated to international education and global mobility at RMIT. Passionate about supporting student outcomes and fostering the development of global citizens, she thrives on working collaboratively across teams, institutions, and cultures to create transformative learning experiences and innovative programs.

Tristanne Scott-Durairajah 

Associate Director, International Relations 

University of Tasmania (UTAS) 

Tristanne Scott-Durairajah is Associate Director, International Relations and PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania. Her professional portfolio at the University of Tasmania encompasses transnational education, international partnerships, foreign government engagement and learning abroad. She is concurrently a PhD candidate in the University of Tasmania’s School of Social Sciences where she is examining the impact of global insecurity on Australian universities.

Anja Sridharan 

Coordinator, Inbound Mobility - Deakin Abroad 

Deakin University 

With a career spanning over 25 years across international education, educational travel, charity, and research sectors, Anja has extensive experience in global program coordination, marketing, events, and student recruitment. She has held roles in both Australia and Europe, bringing a broad international perspective to her work. Currently the Inbound Coordinator at Deakin University, Anja plays a key role in facilitating enriching experiences for incoming students and building strong global partnerships. Known for her collaborative style and student-centred approach, she is deeply committed to quality, inclusion, and creating meaningful opportunities that support student success and wellbeing.

Simon Watson, IEAA-SF 

Senior Manager, International Mobility and Services 

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) 

With over 20 years’ experience in international education, in recruitment, sponsor relations, business development, and learning abroad, Simon is currently the Senior Manager of Global Mobility Programs at University of Technology Sydney. He leads a dedicated team supporting UTS’s ambitious goal of 50% participation in learning abroad and oversees the successful study abroad program. He is passionate about innovation, community, equity and access, and the value of global mobility for all graduates. Simon is an IEAA Associate Fellow.
