Keeping us connected and informed

The IEAA is the glue of our industry. It keeps us connected and informed, and helps us have a strong voice.

Back in 2005, I started working in international education and had no idea of the career paths or opportunities that were possible. When I joined the IEAA, it really opened my eyes. I felt like I was part of something exciting and could see a future for myself in international education. Over the years I’ve organised many Young Professionals and Marketing & Recruitment network events and attended plenty of others – these have been invaluable for my professional development. One of my favourite events is the IEAA National Symposium, which is incredibly useful for keeping up with policy changes, research insights and trends, not to mention the opportunity to network with industry friends and colleagues. For me, this is the perfect way to start the year!

It was actually really enjoyable taking a trip down memory lane as I went through the Fellowship criteria and gives you a sense of achievement and confidence as you reflect on your activity (and hopefully impact) over the years. As I look through the list of Fellows, I’m delighted to be among great company! For anyone considering their own Fellowship application, it's worth the time.

You may be surprised when you see a list of everything you've done over the years. Along with feeling a sense of pride in past achievements, it may also fan the flame to get you thinking again about future conferences, papers or other ways of contributing to the industry.
